		'Buddhism teaches a path of self-development and of service to others. As we develop ourselves, we are able to serve others more effectively. And through service, we develop ourselves. Self and other cannot be separated, and all beings are equal in the face of birth, suffering, and death - and in their potential for spiritual growth and Enlightenment.
		'Daya' is a community of Buddhists based in Kerala who aim to help those who are near death. This can be time of great fear, suffering, financial hardship and uncertainty for the dying person and their family. Daya means 'kindness', and also 'helpfulness'; Daya's volunteers aim to bring kindness, practical help, and stability to those affected by death, irrespective of their religion, caste, or economic circumstances.
